Elon Law School
Project Overview
Adaptive reuse of the historic former Greensboro Central Public Library into the H. Michael Weaver Building, a state-of-the-art, four-story law school facility.
The Challenge
Transforming a mid-century library into a 21st-century law school demanded distinct acoustic isolation for moot courtrooms and high-density data infrastructure for digital legal research, all within an accelerated 10-month academic window.
The Solution
We completely abated and gutted the interior, creating box-in-box floating floor constructions for the courtrooms to achieve STC-60 ratings. The project was delivered 2 weeks ahead of the Fall semester, allowing faculty to settle in early.
